My left-hand-drive instincts set off major alarm bells before I realized that’s in the UK. *phew*
The Civic Type R is growing on me. I think the red accents are what have bothered me most about it; might be less busy with them in body color. The overall styling is okay to me, the color contrast is what spills it over the top.

I see this and think.
What’ll happen to it when Honda close the Swindon factory n ext year and pull out of car production in Europe with it’s closing of it’s factory in Turkey .
I know production of the next Civic will be in North America, but will it get toned down to how North America likes it’s cars.

Ooh. If I go to the UK anytime soon, you’re gonna have a lot of work to do.

With less, ‘fake vents’.
Maybe raised and plastic cladding along the underside.

It might be slightly different on the European isles (UK, Ireland), but on the main land Honda is all but dead. There is an actual Honda dealer less a km from where I live that also offers Opel and Fiat. The amount of Hondas on his lot tends to be roughly zero. The amount of <10 year old Hondas I see on the road is roughly zero.
Looking at their line up it makes sense. The Jazz (Fit) has for generations been looking like something for senior citizens, and seniors don’t want the senior stigma. The rest looks odd without looking attractive to your average consumer. And prices are VW-high.
I assume they will pull out soon. Like GM did.

Yes, Honda has been losing out here too. The Civic is merely an affordable hatchback with some sporty pretenses.
The Jazz here is seen as an elderly persons vehicle but they are moving towards used Qashqais and Ecosports.
The rest of the Honda line-up, the CR-V and HR-V, are not desired at all.
